LSU running back Trey Holly and two others have been arrested for a shooting that took place Friday night in Farmerville that injured two innocent bystanders.
Detectives say an argument between two groups of individuals led to the shooting at the Union Village apartments. Deputies say multiple people fired weapons.
A man and woman were both wounded. Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates said a female victim was still in stable condition at a Shreveport hospital, the other victim was sent to a hospital in Monroe and is expected to recover.
Holly has been charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of a weapon. He’s currently in the Union Parish Detention Center and his bond has been set $512,000.
18-year-old Jordan Jones and a 17-year-old were also arrested. Each one is also facing attempted second-degree murder. Gates expects his deputies will make additional arrests.
Holly is the LHSAA’s all-time leading rusher. He rushed for 10,523 yards in a five-year career at Union Parish. He helped the Farmers reach the state championship game three consecutive seasons.
In his freshman season at LSU, Holly carried the ball 11 times for 110 yards, but was expected to play a much bigger role in the 2024 season.
Holly’s suspension leaves the Tigers with just scholarship running backs on the roster, Josh Williams, Kaleb Jackson and incoming freshman Caden Durham from Duncanville High School in Texas.
