For the fourth year in a row Louisiana will once again have a float in January’s Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.
Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser made the announcement at the Louisiana Travel Summit in Shreveport.
“The (2025 parade) theme: ‘Best Day Ever.’ And we are going to tie that to our theme, ‘Louisiana Saturday Night,'” says Lt. Gov. Nungesser.
The 2025 Louisiana Rose Parade float features a Louisiana alligator adorned with beads and will have a Cajun dance hall and pots of boiled seafood on its back.
Nungesser says they picked the theme “Louisiana Saturday Night,” because Saturday night in Louisiana is the best day ever.
“All the great things to do in Louisiana on a Saturday night — the fair, the festivals, Tiger Stadium, and all the great events all over Louisiana,” Nungesser noted.
And the float will once again feature a local artist.
“Timothy Wayne is a student at LSU,” says Nungesser. “He is Tim McGraw’s nephew, and he’s an up and coming performer.”
Wayne signed with UMG Nashville earlier this year and is working on his first studio album.
The Louisiana Office of Tourism estimates the state’s Rose Bowl parade float has generated well over $40 million in earned media coverage.
“Great opportunity to highlight Louisiana — great pride, our music, and surely our talents,” Nungesser says.
