The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two young women inside a home in Lake Charles.
Deputies were called to a home on Topsy Rd. at around 8:00 Tuesday night; and as they arrived, they heard gunfire.
Sheriff Stitch Guillory says they called in the SWAT team at that point.
“We made re-entry into the residence, and we found that there were two females located inside deceased,” says Sheriff Guillory. “Both females died as a result of gunshot wounds.”
The women are identified as Dahlen Semar and Madison Guillory, both 23.
Madison Guillory was not related to the sheriff.
The department is investigating this as either a murder-suicide or a double suicide.
“Our officers were at the residence, (and) there were only two people in that residence when they heard gunfire,” says Sheriff Guillory.
Sheriff Guillory says the investigation is far from over.
“We’ve got to recover casings and bullets and we’ve got to send those to the lab and make sure that they were fired from the same gun,” says Sheriff Guillory.
Sheriff Guillory says Gabriel Williams, 24, was the one who contacted authorities, and that he provided false and misleading information to deputies.
“We were able to recover some evidence from our complainant that let us know that he knew a little bit more than what he was letting on to as to what transpired inside the residence,” says Sheriff Guillory.
Williams was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and failure to report certain felonies; he has been ruled out as the shooter.
He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, and his bond is pending.
