It will be warm Wednesday, but a cold front will move through the state during the overnight hours and into Thursday morning, bringing fall-like weather to the Bayou State. LSU Public Health Climatologist Barry Keim said the front will also bring us a little bit of rain, but the chilly temperatures through the weekend and into early next week is the big story.
“So on Thanksgiving this front will be crossing the state. It’ll be clearing the state eventually, and this is gonna bring up those rain chances, but eventually it’s gonna usher in some much, much cooler temperatures.”
Keim said if your Thanksgiving includes outdoor plans, make sure you dress appropriately.
“When you leave the house tomorrow morning for wherever you’re gonna go to have your turkey just be prepared for declining temperatures. Don’t be fooled that it’s gonna be a very mild day.”
There are quarterfinal high school football games on Friday night and three outdoor college football games in the state on Saturday. Keim said you don’t have to worry about rain, but dress warm.
“It’s gonna be extremely chilly Friday all the way through the weekend if you’re headed to any of these football games, especially after the sun sets on Friday night. It’s gonna be pretty nippy out there.”
