In the largest fentanyl bust in Livingston Parish history, four individuals were arrested, and over 100-thousand doses of fentanyl were seized following a multi-agency investigation with Homeland Security Investigation and DEA. The operation began with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office investigating a drug trafficking ring led by Tyrone Broadway. Sheriff Jason Ard says undercover agents conducted multiple purchases from the group, uncovering approximately 36-thousand pressed fentanyl pills.
Cut 9 (08) “I’ve been around 32 years and it’s the biggest thing I’ve ever seen. I’m very proud of my narcotic agents that worked this case for a very long time.”
Ard says search warrants were executed at residences in Tickfaw and Hammond, leading to the discovery of nearly 68-thousand additional pressed fentanyl pills, 46 pounds of fentanyl, other drugs, firearms, and vehicles.
“They have probably been responsible for the deaths of many of our loved ones. There’s no doubt about it, and you’re talking over 100,000 pills. I mean we live in a parish with 150,000 people.”
Broadway, along with Eugene Skinner, Donald McCray, and Devonte Skinner, was arrested following the investigation. Ard says he’s pleased these drug dealers are off the street.
“We’re gonna make a good case on you and were going to put you away. I hope all four individuals receive a lot of time in prison.”
