The Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to $1.22 billion for tonight’s drawing, and three Louisiana players have become millionaires during this run, which began on Sept. 13. Louisiana Lottery Communications Director Kimberly Chopin (show-pan) says it has a cash value of 549-million-dollars.
“This is the 5th largest jackpot in Mega Millions history and the 9th largest in U.S. history. It’s really been growing. We’re looking at the 31st drawing in this current cycle and that started back on September 11th.”
Chopin says there has never been a Mega Millions Jackpot winner, but in this current cycle, three winners have won over 1-million-dollar winners.
“We had two $1 million winner match 5 winners in Shreveport and Baton Rouge and we even had a $3 million Mega Millions will Megaplier winner in Baldwin. So, it has been a very winning jackpot roll.”
If numbers hit tonight, Chopin says check your numbers as soon as possible and then the clock starts for that person to claim their winnings.
Tonight’s winning numbers will be drawn at around 10 p.m.
