The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is set to appear in season 2 of the television series Police 24/7. While the specific episodes featuring BSO haven’t been confirmed, Public Information Officer Lt. Neil Johnston says they will be on later episodes showing what BSO Deputies deal with every day.
“An unfiltered access into what we do as far as Sheriff’s Offices and Police Departments, and I think it can be anything from drug bust to traffic stops.”
Johnston says the show focuses on the day-to-day responsibilities of the men and women who serve and protect their communities.
“They’re going to be following us in real-time, and so it just gives them kind of the experience of what we do and tries to show the dedication, and bravery and even the humanity of what we do.”
Johnston says he hopes the public will get a sense of the risk that BSO deputies are dealing with daily and that can be a routine traffic stop.
“Anything as simple as a traffic stop can turn very serious in a very short amount of time. Its strenuous, and seeingin real-time what we go through maybe that will help people understand the stress factors that we have.”
