Police in Kenner have uncovered additional evidence linking Danette Colbert of Slidell, Louisiana, to the suspicious death of Kansas City sports anchor Adan Manzano. Manzano was found unresponsive in a Kenner hotel room and later pronounced dead. Police Chief Keith Conley says three cell phones were obtained from the investigation in St. Tammany Parish
“We’re doing a forensic drill down on those. One of them is believed to be the victim’s cell phone. So, we believe that will give us some evidence of some nature.”
Security footage from Project NOLA shows Colbert with Manzano on the morning of February 5 and later leaving his hotel room alone. Conley says more potential victims of Colbert have contacted Kenner PD claiming Colbert victimized them.
“So we’re vetting those cases very thoroughly to see if it does involve our suspect because of course that would strengthen our case.”
Pending further investigation and toxicology results, charges could be upgraded to homicide. Forensic experts are now assisting in the case, and Conley expects toxicology reports to take several weeks.
“So, toxicology tests usually take three to four weeks to come back, and that’s what the Corners Office will use to make a determination on whether it’s a homicide or just a death of natural causes.”
