The two teenagers killed in Tuesday’s mass shooting at a Mardi Gras celebration in Mamou have been identified.
Lafayette Renaissance Charter High says Alaya Christian was one of two teens fatally shot when a gunman began firing bullets during an outdoor concert on Fat Tuesday.
Lafayette Renaissance Charter says Christian’s impact on the school was immeasurable as she was a member of student council and the softball team.
The other teen that died is 17-year-old Bryson Green, who was a student at Cecilia High.
Green’s family has asked that video of his body on the ground to be removed off social media. Green is described as a kid with a heart and soul that was full of life. No arrests have been made.
