Four people were shot during a “ukes and Boots” trail ride event in Clarence last Saturday. The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire at the event, which had over 1,000 attendees. Captain Tony Moran says upon arrival, deputies faced heavy traffic and located four victims with gunshot wounds.
“They were two 16-year-olds, a 22-year-old, and a 20-year-old were all transported to a medical facility suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.”
Moran says the suspect fled before law enforcement arrived and no arrests were made.
“We’ve had a few leads but received limited information from the victims and also the crowd at the scene. Very little information has been provided to us to assist in the investigation.”
Security for the event was privately managed with only four guards. No permits were required, but officials are considering changes. Moran urge anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
“We’re asking the public if they have any video of the incident or have any information related to the incident to contact Natchitoches Crime Stoppers and be eligible for a reward at 318-238- 2388
The investigation remains ongoing.
