Crime continues to plague Natchitoches, with a deadly mass shooting happening early yesterday morning.
“As officers arrived, they located six victims, five of which were (taken to) the hospital,” says Natchitoches Police Sgt. John Greely, “and unfortunately the other victim was pronounced deceased.”
The man who died has been identified as Latravion Stallworth, 18, of Natchitoches.
Of the other five victims, three have been released, and the other two are in stable condition.
The shooting happened at around 1:40 a.m. on Keyser Ave.
“It was at a shopping center,” says Sgt. Greely. “The shopping center has a grocery store. There’s also several late night eateries.”
So far, no one is in custody.
At this time, it’s unknown what led up to the shooting.
“This is a very tragic situation,” Greely says, “and every effort that we have is being put towards this case.”
