The Saints have traded in Black and Gold for White and Gold. New Orleans released the franchise’s first-ever white helmet, answering years of pleas from the Black and gold faithful.
The alternate features a glossy white shell with black speckles. The team’s iconic fleur-de-lis logo faces out on each side, but this time with the same old gold as the team’s color rush uniforms, reminiscent of New Orleans’ classic darker gold. Running down the middle of the helmet is a thick strip of matching gold with a subtle metallic fleur-de-lis pattern inside. It is flanked by two black stripes with a thin space of white in between. It’s all brought together by another Franchise first- a gold facemask.
The Saints announced the helmets will be worn with their color rush jersey this season, creating a long-awaited all-white look. The team will also be releasing another alternate jersey sometime before training camp, which will replace the current alternate ’60s throwback uniforms.
