The United Cajun Navy is now involved in the search for the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie. Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona, during the early morning hours on February 1st. Incident Commander Josh Gill is on the ground in Tucson.
“What we’re here to do is just provide some resources. That’s it. Had some conversations with some volunteers. Got some information, going to reach out back to the sheriff’s department,” Gill explained.
Gill says he and his team are canvassing the area near the 84-year-old’s home with flyers and are speaking to as many people as they can.
“We want to help bring Nancy home. We’re not law enforcement. We just want to help. We want to provide some closure back to this family,” Gill said.
Gill says the United Cajun Navy has activated its “Saw It, Report It” system, allowing people to quickly submit tips via their smartphones.
“Feel free to reach out to us, if you know where Nancy is. If you’ve seen her. If you’ve got a hot tip, anything, let us know. We’re here for one reason and one reason only: That’s to help assist finding Miss Guthrie,” Gill said.
