“Parents that were concerned because they felt as though if their child didn’t participate there would be consequences if they didn’t, and other coaches that are doing the right thing,” said Bonine.
Bonine said he is extremely disappointed that the association is having to look into the matter. He says they have received time-stamped photographs and videos of the alleged practice sessions.
“We’ve had various reports and we don’t chase our tails. We wait until we get some confirmed data, then we send someone out for surveillance,” said Bonine.
Bonine, who declined to name the 12 schools, says the executive committee will meet June 3rd to discuss the situation. Schools and coaches could be fined, suspensended or placed on probation.
“The good news is we have 370, some odd I think, football schools and we’re talking about a dozen in certain regions, so that’s kinda where we are at this point,” says Bonine.
