Entergy Louisiana has restoration crews in place as the state braces for the impacts of Marco and Laura. Customer Service Vice President Melanie Stewart says there are many complexities that come with preparing for two different storms.
“We’re actually treating it as one big storm, so we’ve assembled our teams as we always do, we got a lot of mutual assistance coming our way, we’ll have about 34-hundred restoration workers,” said Stewart.
Stewart says there are also logistical challenges that come with COVID-19 spread mitigation measures that will be incorporated into response operations.
“We are trying to social distance, we are wearing our masks and we are asking customers if they could, just to give our line workers a little bit of space, for their protection and for ours,” said Stewart.
Stewart says call and report a downed powerline and never try to handle it yourself as the line may still have electricity going to it.
