Winnsboro Police Lieutenant Terrance Pleasant is accused of soliciting sexual favors and money to a woman who was involved in a two-vehicle crash. State Police Trooper Michael Reichardt says the woman who received the offer told the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“The female driver who was not at fault in the crash alleges that Pleasant solicited sexual favors and money to provide a favorable report to her insurance,” said Reichardt.
Reichardt says they investigated the case for several weeks and then Wednesday night 47-year-old Pleasant was booked into the Franklin Parish Jail.
“He was indicted by a grand jury on Monday, April 19th for one count of public bribery and one count of abuse of office,” said Reichardt.
Winnsboro Police Chief Will Pierce told the Franklin Sun that Pleasant has resigned after a 15-year career with the department.
