Beginning Wednesday morning eligible Entergy customers can apply for a one-time $150 credit on their bill. Entergy spokesperson David Freese says they’ve pledged $4.4 million, and the United Way is helping them with the application process, To see if you are eligible visit the bill pay section on Entergy’s website.
“Customers can go there and find eligibility requirements, we have a table listed with the different categories as well as the required documentation,” said Freese.
For example, the total household income for a family of four cannot exceed $69,000.
Documents you’ll need include a photo ID and proof of income like your 2021 tax return or last paystub. Janet Darden, President of the United Way of Northeast Louisiana says they’re aware of the hardship high electric bills are causing for some rate payers…
“We realize $150 may or may not make a dent for some people, but it’s a start and one that we appreciate very much from Entergy,” said Darden.
The $150 credit for eligible customers is on a first come first serve basis and the application process opens Wednesday at 9 AM.
In addition to this program, Freese says there are other programs like Power to Care and the Low Entergy Assistance Program for customers who need assistance with their bill.
“Customers who are concerned about their bill or are struggling to pay their bill, we want to hear from them and we want to place them with a customer service representative that maybe able to help them,” said Freese.
