ASAP, the Louisiana-based delivery app formerly known Waitr is announcing a new NIL deal for all student-athletes at LSU.—not just football players. Now, every player who accepts the deal will promote the app on their social media accounts.
ASAP’S Kevin Burke says the deal is set up to allow student-athletes to work on their own schedules.
“This NIL for all really encompasses this idea of giving the student-athletes the ability to prioritize what’s important and then also allowing them to earn income off of every single order that’s placed within the system and their promo code,” Burke said.
Burke adds the arrangement with ASAP will be offered first to athletes in fall sports—including football, women’s soccer, and even cheerleaders, and then phased into other sports as the athletic seasons progress.
ASAP began in Lake Charles, and Burke says the company is proud to expand its partnership with LSU.
“We started our first in-stadium mobile ordering opportunity with Alex Box and from there have been able to grow that opportunity across multiple SEC schools and into the NFL,” Burke says.
Burke declined to share how much money the students might make from the arrangement. But he says it gives fans the chance to help them earn more.
“Once your student-athlete has opted in you can use their promo code to order via ASAP and know that each time you’re placing that order it’s benefiting LSU student-athletes,” he concludes.
