An LSU student was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds this morning in her car near Baton Rouge’s downtown area. Baton Rouge Police Sergeant L’Jean McKneely says 21-year-old Allison Rice’s vehicle was found on Government Street near railroad tracks.
“When we arrived on the scene we found that the victim had been shot multiple times and had died there inside of her car,” McKneely said.
Rice was from Ascension Parish. She was a senior at LSU majoring in marketing. A Baton Rouge TV station says Rice was with friends at an establishment in the Mid City area of Baton Rouge. McKneely says their investigation is in its initial stages…
“We don’t have much on this particular shooting. We’re going to rely heavily on the community to assist us, along with evidence that we’re collecting,” McKneely said.
LSU released a statement:
The LSU community is saddened to hear of senior Allison Rice being killed overnight. Her family and friends are in our thoughts, and we encourage anyone who may have more information about this crime to contact Baton Rouge Police.
Any of her friends and classmates that would like to speak with someone about this or needs help processing this loss can contact the Mental Health Service in the Student Health Center (225-578-8774).
