LSU will face its biggest test yet as they take on eighth-ranked Tennessee in Death Valley this Saturday. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, who transferred to the team from Arizona St. said he’s excited for the challenge that comes with playing in the SEC…
“That’s why I came here. That’s why I put my name in the transfer portal. That’s something I was looking for, and I thank God for putting me in this position to go out there, play auburn in a hostile environment, and then the next week have a ranked opponent coming here to Death Valley and have the chance to go out there and showcase my talent and go out there with my brothers and just have fun.”
Daniels has thrown for 915 yards and 6 touchdowns on a 68% completion percentage this season, but his biggest stat is his zero interceptions to this point. Daniels said he prides himself on limiting turnovers…
“Just going out there and sometimes just trusting those guys, giving them the 50/50 balls because I know they can make those plays, being decisive, and just knowing where to go with the football. If you know where you’re going with the football pre-snap and you can find it post-snap then you’ll have a good chance of going out there and getting completions and start moving the ball.”
The Tigers are averaging 36 points per game this season and 26 in SEC play, but against the high flying offense of the Volunteers, wide receiver Malik Nabers said they need to get off to a fast start…
“So we got to come out way faster, way more technique-wise, formation-wise. We got to come out making plays early because when you make early plays and sparks it just increases on the defense, it increases on the offense, and we got to keep our defense off the field longer.”
Tiger stadium is already sold out for the 11 AM kickoff.
