Apple has updated its latest operating system to 16.1 and Haggai Davis, Customer Success Manager at General Informatics said they never recommend someone go to a full upgrade for example from 15 to version 16, he advises waiting for the first update of a new version before you download it.
“So now that 16.1 has come out a lot of the bugs in the original release of 16 have been worked out,” said Davis.
Davis said it’s always best to download after the newest version has been updated for added security.
So, what you can expect from version 16.1? Davis said you’ll see changes to your lock screen on your iPhone.
“You have a lot more widgets on the front, you have more animated wallpaper, better components like a clock or how strong your battery is, how much charge you have left in your battery. Your lock screen is much more useful to you now,” said Davis.
Before there were complaints of batteries draining much faster after an iOS update but Haggai said Apple has worked on version 16 so there’s better usage of battery life.
“You can switch to different methods to how fast it uses your battery; you can go into a battery saving mode so that your battery will not run down as fast. There are a lot of improvements,” said Davis.
Another feature with the update is the ability to use the Health application on your phone even if you don’t have an iWatch. Davis is also the host of the podcast and radio program Tech Gumbo.
