Louisiana U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy believes former President Donald Trump should drop out of the 2024 Presidential race.
“If former president Trump ends up getting the nomination but cannot win in general, that means we’ll have four more years of policies that have led to very high inflation,” Cassidy said during an appearance on the CNN State of the Union.
Trump is also facing nearly 100 criminal charges from four different federal indictments.
“I think Joe Biden needs to be replaced, but I don’t think Americans will vote for someone that’s been convicted. I’m just very sorry how all of this is playing out,” Cassidy said.
Cassidy also said if nothing is done, Social Security will start to run out of money in about a decade, resulting in a 24-percent benefit cut.
“Both Biden and Trump have the same policy on social security for example, which is to do nothing.”/
