New campaign finance totals for the governor’s race were released today by the state Ethics Board and Republican Jeff Landry continues to have a huge advantage in dollars over his opponents. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says it’s easier for Landry to raise money…
“People know he’s probably going to be governor unless something happens so they’re investing in him.”
Landry is reporting six-point-six million dollars in cash on hand. Republican John Schroder is reporting one-point-six million dollars, while Stephen Waguespack and Hunter have just over one-million dollars. Democrat Shawn Wilson has just 879-thousand dollars on hand.
Pinsonat says Wilson’s campaign campaign finance number is disappointing
“So what can be communicated and what is equal time under that format.”
Pinsonat says the dynamics of this race has not changed since it started, Landry has all of the momentum because of the huge fundraising totals that he has over his opponents…
“Jeff Landry is his own biggest obstacle,” said Pinsonat.
The primary is October 14th. Early voting is September 30th.
