A Sabine Parish man is behind bars for allegedly sexually abusing underage girls.
Jerry Bryant Vines Jr., 60, of Converse was arrested on Aug. 16 on charges of sexually touching an 11-year-old girl.
Investigators say this is a pattern that goes way back.
“Since his arrest, four more victims have come forward to disclose unwanted sexual abuse against them by Vines over the last 25 years,” says Det. Wade Seegers of the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office. “The ages of the victims at the time of the abuse range from age five all the way to age 13.”
Vines is facing several charges, with more likely to follow.
“So far, he’s been arrested and charged with sexual battery of a victim who was under 11, six counts of first-degree rape of a child under the age of 13, oral sexual battery of a child under 15, and indecent behavior of a juvenile victim under age 13,” says Det. Seegers.
Investigators believe there could be additional victims.
“If you feel like Jerry Bryant Vines has abused you in any way, we ask you that you contact our office — 318-590-9475,” Seegers says.
No bond has been set at this time.
