The LSU School of Nursing in New Orleans has once again been recognized for its outstanding nursing education, receiving the National League for Nursing (NLN) award for the third time. Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing Jenna Martin says this award underscores the school’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in nursing education.
“We had to speak to six different criteria regarding that. Things like excellence in teaching, and circular development, excellence in collaborating with our students and colleagues.”
The NLN award highlights the school’s strong curriculum, which integrates cutting-edge teaching methods and hands-on clinical experiences. Martin says this recognition not only honors the hard work of the faculty and students but also enhances the school’s reputation, making it a more attractive option for prospective nursing students.
“We’re always pushing our faculty and students to think outside the box, and not to settle for what we’re doing right now in the status quo, but really just always trying to improve.”
Martin noted with its strong emphasis on quality education and student success, the LSU School of Nursing remains a valuable institution in shaping the future of nursing in Louisiana and beyond.
“That means not being satisfied with what you’re doing now, but really trying to be as innovative and creative as we can to not only help our students grow and make sure they have success while there here and as future nurses.”
