Caddo and Bossier Parish deputies have been deployed to Baton Rouge as part of the Louisiana Sheriff’s Task Force. Caddo Sheriff’s spokesperson Bobby Herring says rescue teams and equipment are making the trip at the request of the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s office.
“We’re sending four boats, five trucks, seven deputies, and a lot of other equipment. The Bossier Sheriff’s Office is sending an equal amount of equipment. They have different types of vehicles and high water trucks,” said Herring.
Herring says deputies that remain in their jurisdiction will likely also remain very busy with concerns created from the storm.
“The storm is projected to roll up this way and maybe dump water up here. The rivers up here are also flooded and there’s just not a lot of places for the water to go. Any amount of rain could be dangerous,” said Herring.
