The 2026 Saints schedule is out as New Orleans will open the season September 13th against the Lions. WWL Radio sports talk show host Mike Detillier says that the Lions will be a tough matchup.
“We’ve seen the Lions, over the years, under Dan Campbell. They’re physical on both sides of the football. They get after you, and they’ve got some guys that can score touchdowns,” Detillier said.
The Saints first two games are on the road against Detroit and Baltimore. New Orleans hosts Las Vegas in week three for the home opener, and then it’s a big Monday night matchup against the Falcons. Detillier says it will be important for the Saints offense, with its new additions, get on the same page early.
“How quickly will all that come together? That’s always a big question mark for me, with so many now new pieces of the puzzle on the offensive side of the football,” Detillier asked.
Detillier says the Saints also have a tough stretch of games in late November.
“On the road against the Bears, on the road against the Bengals, especially if Joe Burrow is healthy; that’s a difficult game. You’re at home against Green Bay, who I think is a really good football team,” Detillier noted.
