A grisly scene in New Orleans East as a rock band shooting a music video stumbles upon the charred remains of several dogs.
Louisiana Humane Society Executive Director Jeff Dorson says the corpses were discovered in an overgrown grassy area just off a main roadway. He says it wasn’t easy to look at.

“There’s one for sure, it’s burned over it’s entire body, all there is is a skeleton with teeth showing. The second one is just an outline of what looks like a dog, and then there’s the skull of a third.”
The band was filming on scene with a few former Saints players, and Rockin Doopsie when they said they could smell something putrid and followed the stench to the scene.
Authorities say they’re not sure what happened to the dogs, but Dorson says the crime scene contains clues pointing to two different criminal acts. “How did these dogs die? My guess is probably a horrific death, and then the person or persons tried to cover it up by burning them,” said Dorson.

Dorson says if you’re in New Orleans east and are missing a dog, or have information about the crime please contact the Humane Society. “It’s gruesome, but it’s something that we all have to face. The way we confront this is not to accept it, and if we ignore these kinds of things then our city is less for it.”
