Hundreds of new jobs are coming to the Acadiana region with the $25.5 million expansion of Coastal Machine & Supply. CEO Kody Guidry says the expansion of the precision manufacturing company was years in the making.
“Six years ago, we actually made the decision to diversify the company into space and defense; it used to be totally oil and gas,” Guidry explained.
Guidry says the expansion will lead to a total of about 240 new job opportunities, on top of retaining 58 current positions – in fact, the “help wanted” sign is out already.
“We are already looking for new hires currently; for new positions we are opening up, and also to backfill positions from internal promotions. And then we plan to kick off construction in the fall of this year,” Guidry said.
The first phase will be completed in the summer of 2027, and Guidry says that will be followed by additional phases.
“To increase our production capacity, we’re going to be adding new buildings; so initially, adding on 16,000 square feet, and hopefully expanding over to 100,000 square feet,” Guidry noted.
