There’s been a major break in the case of two missing south Louisiana women. West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Brian Spillman says his deputies along with other agencies have begun searching a rural residential piece of property that belongs to 43-year-old Thomas Morris, who was arrested in July on an unrelated kidnapping case.
“The scope of the warrant includes a search of property located at 9745 Morris Road for evidence related to the disappearance of Madison Allen and Stephanie Hevia, including human remains,” Spillman said.
Madison Allen is believed to have disappeared in November 2023. She was living in Zachary. The other missing woman is Stephanie Hevia, who disappeared in March of 2025. Her last known address was in West Feliciana Parish.
Spillman says both women were known acquaintances of Morris and investigators have developed sufficient evidence to secure a search warrant of Morris’ property. The sheriff is not dismissing the possibility they may find more than just the remains of Allen and Hevia.
“These two ladies could be located on that place; thus, the search warrant. But we don’t have any more information. We’re not saying it’s not, but if there are, we certainly need information. We need the public to come to us and give us some more information,” Spillman stated.
Spillman says the search of the 15-acre property will be slow and methodical. He continues to ask for the public’s help in this case as their information has helped them secure the search warrant.
“Morris has always been a person of interest to us in this case; but this new coverage provided an opportunity for us to plead to the public, to come to us with any new information that they may think was important, to help solve these disappearances of these two ladies,” Spillman explained.
Morris is in jail on a $500,000bond. He was arrested nearly two months ago after authorities say he held a woman against her will. The victim, who was from Montana, was not allowed to leave and not allowed access to her cell phone. She eventually alerted authorities about her dire situation when she called the cops from the bathroom of a local dollar store.
