A Minden man faces a second-degree murder charge for allegedly killing his uncle in a domestic dispute. Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker says 21-year-old Luther David Hair was arrested for the shooting of his 58-year-old uncle, Daniel Hair, at a home in the 3400 block of Dorcheat Road.
“What turned out to be just a verbal disturbance between the deceased and his sister inside a residence turned deadly when the nephew went to the back bedroom, grabbed a gun and shot Mr. Daniel Hair in the head,” Parker explained.
Parker says Daniel Hair went to the home to ask his sister, the shooter’s mother, for a ride to Walmart. When she was not ready, a verbal dispute began and escalated quickly.
“I hate that she witnessed the whole ordeal, but at no time was he physical with her or the shooter, which was his nephew; and he was unarmed at the time,” Parker noted.
Parker says he believes the shooting was uncalled for.
“It’s just kind of a senseless shooting. The young man had plenty of opportunity to de-escalate, to remove himself from that situation. He shouldn’t have even been involved in it, in my opinion,” Parker said.
