The 47-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing four people on the property of a residence in Houma is facing four counts of first-degree murder. Lt. Blake Tabor with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office says Kaegan Solet is also facing one count of attempted first-degree murder for severely injuring a child.
“Certainly, that does not mean that additional charges are not going to happen or unlikely, but at this point we can certainly concrete those charges in connection with this investigation,” Tabor said.
Tabor says the injured child continues to recover. He says Solet was also injured in the attack and is at an undisclosed hospital that’s not in the area. Tabor says upon Solet’s medical discharge, he will be transferred directly into the custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“And once that does occur, he will immediately be transferred to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where he’ll be booked on all charges,” Tabor explained.
Tabor says deputies will remain in constant supervision of Solet throughout his hospitalization.
“At no point in time was he ever released or left unattended; he has been in constant and supervised detention by our staff and personnel and will continue to do so until his time of being booked during the booking procedures,” Tabor noted.
