Investigators did not find any human remains during an extensive search of a 15-acre property in West Feliciana Parish for two missing women. Sheriff Brian Spillman says investigators did find potential evidence that may connect Thomas Morris to the disappearances of Madison Allen and Stephanie Hevia.
“And although we did not find everything that we thought we might at that location, we did recover some evidence; or some items that possibly could become evidence, based on some testing that we’re going to have done,” Spillman said.
The property is where Morris once lived. Allen disappeared in November 2023, while Hevia has not been seen since March 2025. Both women knew Morris, but their exact relationship is unclear. Spillman says the reward for information leading to their whereabouts has been doubled to $10,000.
“These young ladies’ families do not deserve to go through what they’re going through right now. We need some closure for them, whatever that might be at this point. So we’re really working hard to try to get to that,” Spillman noted.
Morris is being held in the West Feliciana Parish jail on a $500,000 bond. He was arrested this summer on an unrelated kidnapping charge. Spillman says investigators are disappointed they did not find more evidence during the search, but they did collect items that could help move the case forward.
“We’re utilizing the State Police Crime Lab, FBI Crime Lab; both are going to analyze some of this information that we have and see if we can put the pieces together. It’s like a giant jigsaw puzzle,” Spillman explained.
