The state GOP is pulling out all the stops ahead of Saturday’s primary election. Louisiana’s Republican heavyhitters took the stage at the Sudduth Coliseum in Lake Charles to warm up the crowd ahead of President Trump’s scheduled 7 PM appearance.
Attorney General Jeff Landry opened things up, imploring the audience to vote Republican up and down the ballot.
“We’re going to send a message that says, you don’t care about our jobs? Well guess what, you’re fired, it’s time for a new Governor. Louisiana you have to do it, and if you do it I tell you, we’re going to be great again!” said Landry.
US Senator Bill Cassidy followed behind, leading the audience in a call and response attacking Democratic Presidential hopeful Joe Biden.
“Who supports the second amendment, Biden or Trump?! Who appoints conservative judges, Biden or Trump?! Now, here’s the toughest question, who do you want to be elected President in 2020, Biden or Trump?” said Cassidy to repeated eruptions of “Trump!!” from the audience.
US Senator John Kennedy rounded things out by working to tie Governor Edwards to Washington Democrats.
“When I talk about the insider elite which is running this country into the ground, I’m talking about the people who call you and me deplorables! I’m a deplorable, I love it! Are you a deplorable?”
