The Saints stretched their winning streak to five straight with a dominating performance in Chicago beating the Bears 36-25.
New Orleans outgained Chicago 424-to-252. Wide receiver Michael Thomas had nine catches for 131 yards as Teddy Bridgewater threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Latavius Murray filled in for the injured Alvin Kamara and had 119 yards and two TDs. Bridgewater says this game was all about attitude.
“When you look at the scoreboard, you look at the stat sheet, you watch the tape, you see nothing but attitude from our guys,” said Bridgewater. “It started up front, we knew it was going to be a physical battle, we knew how tough their defense was, we just knew that we had to play a physical game and we did just that here today.”
The Saints are now 6-1 and Bridgewater is 5-0 as a starter filling in for the injured Drew Brees, who could possibly return next Sunday. Bridgewater on the team’s great run since the loss to the Rams.
“You talk about three of the five wins come against three playoff teams from last year, two of them coming on the road that’s pretty impressive. It Speaks highly of the team, it’s all about the team, we are preparing each week, we are trusting our preparation, we are going out there on the football field and letting it rip,” said Bridgewater.
The Saints return to the Superdome on Sunday to host a suddenly hot Arizona Cardinal team that’s won three straight. We’ll have to wait and see if Brees returns.
