Louisiana State Parks end the 3-night minimum stay for weekday stays at campgrounds and cabins. The change starts on December 9th. State Parks Director Brandon Burris says they’ve heard the feedback from visitors to waive the minimum weeknight stay requirement that has been in place the last few years.
“We did some due diligence and some research and found out numbers and facts support their request and so we are making the change back to accommodate a one-night say now during the weekdays only,” said Burris.
Burris expects an uptick in reservations, adding that in some of the less-populated areas the park is the only available overnight accommodations.
“We’re hoping it will assist out the locals and brings on a boom to our state parks but also to the local economy there,” said Burris.
Burris says the repeal sends an encouraging message to those that want to explore sportsman’s paradise.
“We have something to offer everybody from beautiful cypress forests to beaches on Grande Isle. You name it, we got it, and we are open for business,” said Burris.
