LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger says Oklahoma’s defense might be the fastest they’ve faced this season. Ensminger says the Sooners speed presents problems for opposing offenses, especially those that try to run the football.
“It’s protection first, you got to be able to run the football against this team, which nobody has,” said Ensminger.
Oklahoma is allowing 132 rushing yards a game, which is the 33rd best mark in the country.
Ensminger believes leading rusher Clyde Edwards-Helaire will play, despite a hamstring injury that had him on crutches last week. He says if Edwards-Helaire can’t play, other guys are ready to step up.
“Ty-Davis Price is a bull runner, John Emery can make people miss in space, Chris Curry runs the ball hard, he’s very secure with the ball,” said Ensminger.
Because of LSU’s Joe Burrow, many are enjoying a nice meal this Christmas. Burrow spoke about the poverty in his hometown during his Heisman acceptance speech. It led to almost 500-thousand dollars in donations to the Athens County Food Bank in Ohio. Burrow says he never expected that kind of support.
“I just said it from my heart, it’s what I was feeling at the time and someone took it and ran with it, and it’s been awesome, I couldn’t be happier for my area that’s been happening, I think it’s going to help a lot of people this Christmas,” said Burrow.
