Only one win stands between the Bayou Bengals and a national title following a lopsided victory 63-28 victory over Oklahoma in the Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl. The game saw Heisman recipient quarterback Joe Burrow post eight touchdowns, a record for a College Football Playoff game. LSU drew first blood, scoring on its first drive and never trailed during the game. At one point in the game, the Tigers had a 42-point leader on the Sooners. Now, LSU returns to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on January 13th, where the Purple and Gold could claim their first national title since 2007. In that game, the Tigers beat the Ohio State Buckeyes. The dome could see a rematch of that game if the Buckeyes pull off a victory over defending national champions Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.
