A former Louisiana State Trooper of the Year is now accused of producing and distributing pornographic images of children. 41-year-old Jason Boyet has been booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and placed on administrative leave.
State Police Lt. Nick Manale says the investigation began as Special Agents developed information of a subject, later identified as Boyet, producing and distributing pornographic images on a web based application. Agents determined Boyet as the online user and took him into custody following questioning.
Boyet has been charged with one count of Production and Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles.
In 2018, Boyet received the Meritorious Service Award, which is an award for performance of duty that exceeds the normal expectations of duty and demonstrates an exceptional degree of good judgment, initiative, and competence.
