Georgia shot 54% from the field and hit eight 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough to beat LSU as the Tigers extended their eight-game winning streak by beating the Bulldogs 92-82. Tremont Waters was very good again, as he scored 26 points and dished out four assists. Skylar Mays had 14 points in the first half and finished with 20 points.
Freshman Naz Reid made some big plays and had 15 points and seven rebounds, before he fouled out.
The Tigers led 48-36 at halftime. The Bulldogs kept it close in the second half by shooting 59% from the field, but good free throw shooting by the Tigers made sure Georgia never really threatened. LSU was 14-of-17 from the free throw line in the 2nd half and 21 of 29 for the game.
Coach Will Wade was not happy that Georgia was able to drive so easily to rim, score in transition and allowed to many back cuts for points.
LSU has now won 18 games in a row at home. That ties for the second longest in program history. The Tigers are 15-3 overall, 5-0 in the SEC.
The Bayou Bengals head to Missouri this weekend for the match-up with the Tigers on Saturday at 5 PM.
