The Louisiana Office of State Parks wants to hear your thoughts about the state’s outdoor offerings by filling out a form here.
Director of Outdoor Recreation Mitchell Aleshire says the survey will help guide future development and investment in the Sportsman’s Paradise, and they want to know what you’d like to see more of from Louisiana’s outdoors.
“We want to know what’s missing and what they are utilizing so we can set priorities for the state so that we can guide future development of outdoor recreation and the distribution of the federal funds,” says Aleshire.
Aleshire says there’s a lot of value in the data they are capturing because it covers every kind of outdoor recreation.
“Playgrounds, splash parks, swimming pools, equestrian, bicycles, paddle launches, paddle trails, ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, hunting, fishing, we want to hear about all of it,” says Aleshire.
Aleshire says filling out the survey will help Louisiana score additional federal grant money that can be used to upgrade outdoor facilities throughout the state.
“The survey is related to the state’s requirement to update the statewide comprehensive outdoor recreation plan every five years,” says Aleshire.
The 23 question survey will be available through December 31st.
