The New Orleans Saints will be allowed to play in front of fans after the team reached an agreement with Mayor Latoya Cantrell. Beginning this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, 3,000 fans will be allowed inside the Superdome. Saints Coach Sean Payton says that both teams worked together to make this happen.
“It’s good to see that both teams came together and came up with a plan not just for this game but for the upcoming schedule.”
The phased plan will begin with 3,000 fans this Sunday, before increasing to 6,000 fans for November games and as much as 15,000 fans for games in December. Payton says that the phased plan is a great way to gradually allow fans inside the Superdome.
“I think it’s great that we’ll have more and more fans there safely and we’ll kind of go from there.”
