New Orleans and Company, the marketing agency for the city of New Orleans, is hosting a hospitality and tourism job fest and offering job seekers COVID vaccines Wednesday at the Ernest Morial Convention Center. Spokesperson Kelly Schulz said about 100 companies are attending.
“These employers are ready to hire good people, they’re going to be doing interviews at the convention center and many of the companies are actually ready to make job offers on the spot,” Schulz said.
Schulz added that with the tourism industry gradually reopening across the nation, jobs at all levels are available.
“We have entry-level jobs, we have executive-level jobs. These are offering competitive wages, benefit packages,” Schulz said.
Schulz says visitors are coming back, and hotels, restaurants, and tourist locations need workers.
“So now’s a really good time to come look at all the opportunities that exist within the hospitality industry which is really something that could be a lifelong career and very rewarding,” Schulz said.
