Law enforcement arrests one of their own for multiple charges including rape and indecent behavior with children. State Police Sargent Scott Moreau said after an investigation by their Special Victims Unit and the U-S Department of Justice they arrested 51-year-old David Harris of Prairieville Thursday.
“He was arrested on numerous sexual misconduct charges. At the time of the investigation Harris was assigned to the FBI New Orleans field office,” said Moreau.
Moreau said in February the DOJ and State Police received a complaint of alleged sexual wrongdoings by Harris that involved multiple victims across several parishes.
“Through investigative methods evidence was uncovered of criminal acts by Harris involving both adult and juvenile victims, with incidents occurring as far back as 2016,” said Moreau.
Arrest warrants were obtained on Harris in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, and Orleans Parishes. Moreau said Harris was booked in Ascension Parish for Aggravated Crimes Against Nature, and Indecent Behavior with Children under the age of 13. Moreau said upon release Harris faces more charges.
“Harris will be booked on outstanding warrants in Orleans Parish for sexual battery and Attempted Third Degree Rape and warrants in East Baton Rouge Parish for Aggravated Crimes Against Nature, Indecent Behavior with Juveniles, Obscenity and Witness Intimidation,” said Moreau.
