The Joint Budget Committee has approved a new naming rights deal for the Superdome. The iconic sports stadium is now the Caesars Superdome. Contract terms are not finalized, but the 20-year deal is worth a reported 138-million dollars. All of the money generated from the new naming rights deal will go to the Saints.
Evans Holmes for ASM Global, which manages the Dome, says those dollars replace the need for a subsidy from the state.
“It shores up the revenue sources that we use to convert out of that inducement model into what we call the at-risk model, in which the team has to go out generate the revenue on their own and not rely on a state subsidy,” said Holmes.
A 10-year naming rights deal with Mercedes-Benz ends this month.
