The winner of last Saturday’s one-point-three million-dollar Louisiana Lotto drawing is from Laura-devastated southwest Louisiana. So says lottery spokesman Dennis Annison who says the lucky ticketholder came forward Monday. “It was claimed by Terrell Joseph, Sr. of Lake Charles. The 53-year-old took home just nearly $939,000 after taxes,” said Annison.
No word on what Joseph plans to do with his winnings.
Annison says the store that sold the ticket won its largest commission ever for selling the winning ticket. He says, “the ticket was sold at the More for Less #15 store on Ryan Street in Lake Charles with the retailer winning a $13,222 bonus for selling the jackpot prize.”
Annison says the store was very happy with the commission it’s receiving. “They’d never received that much commission before. It was their first million-dollar winning ticket and they said it would go far to cover some expenses in operating the store,” said Annison.
