The Bayou Classic will be in New Orleans once again for the 49th Annual Bayou Classic. President and CEO of New Orleans Convention Company, Inc. Dottie Belletto says more than 200,000 people travel to New Orleans for the Bayou Classic weekend and more than 50,000 – 60,000 people attend the Bayou Classic game and events.
“The economic impact to the city with tax revenue, hotel rooms, restaurants, basic services, and ground transportation, it is in the millions,” said Belletto.
Traditionally fans expect The Battle of the Bands, Fan festival, and a Classic parade, but this year Belletto says they are kicking it up a notch by giving out scholarships, and hosting different new events that cater to the students and are free to the public.
“Were going to kick off Friday with our Business at Bayou we are celebrating black businesses, were going to have information about entrepreneurs, and we are going to have some inspirational speakers”, said Beletto.
Tickets for the 49th Annual Bayou classic can be purchased at www.mybayouclassic.com, Ticketmaster, the New Orleans Arena Box Office. For Students it can be picked up at Southern or Grambling Universities Ticket Office.
Belletto says tickets for all the events surrounding Bayou Classic are selling fast..
“And i’m saying please go online and get your ticket because they’re not going to be many left on sight,” said Belleto.
