After a year of rumors, there could potentially be a Buc-ee’s coming to Ruston based on an agenda item that will be discussed at Monday’s city council meeting. Malcolm Butler with the Lincoln Parish Journal says council members are expected to discuss an agreement with CSMS Management.
“When you google CSMS Management LLC, the owner of it is a gentleman with the name of Arch Aplin III and Beaver Aplin is basically the guy that started Buc-ee’s,” said Butler.
Butler says they reached out to Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker to ask about the speculations but he declined to comment. He says there’s speculation Buc-ees has already picked a location.
“The rumor is from across the Ruston Junior High off of Tarbutton Road, it’s just north of I-20, a lot of land,” said Butler.
This would be the first Buc-ee’s in the state of Louisiana. Butler says it would be great for the local economy.
“And you know Ruston just continues to grow and so just the tax dollars themselves will make a huge impact on our parish,” said Butler.
