Suspect 32-year-old Trey Rentrop of Raceland.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in locating 32-year-old Trey Rentrop of Raceland. LPSO Captain Brennan Matherne said after an iPad was discovered in the home of a woman with two children recording them.
“That was positioned over a hole in the bathroom. We also found evidence that Rentrop installed it with images on the tablet itself leaving evidence that he was obviously aware of it,” said Matherne.
Matherne said Rentrop is charged with video voyeurism, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and failure to register as a sex offender in Assumption Parish.
“Rentrop is a registered sex offender following a 2019 conviction for rape,” said Matherne.
The suspect is a known acquaintance of the victim and Matherne said they also located a rifle belonging to Rentrop in the woman’s home.
“He was a trusted person to this family and there was a rifle that detectives found at the residence which we determined actually belonged to him. And being a convicted felon, he cannot possess a firearm,” said Rentrop.
