19-year-old Landon Woodside of Slidell is charged with Terrorizing after the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified of a post made on social media. Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Suzanne Carboni said Woodside was arrested Monday, and she described the video post.
“And it showed an individual holding an AR-style rifle, and the caption on the video was ‘next school shooter in the making,” said Carboni.
Carboni said Woodside confessed to investigators.
“While speaking with detectives, he admitted to making the video but told investigators he was just joking,” said Carboni.
Carboni said they want to reiterate the significance of making such threats, on social media or in person…
“Even if you’re joking or saying it in a casual manner, that’s very serious. And we just want people to realize that. We take each of these situations seriously, it can be considered a potential threat and they will be investigated,” said Carboni.
In Louisiana, the crime of Terrorizing can carry a sentence of up to 15 years or a fine of up $15,000.
